Speaker: Jonathan E. Smaby, the executive director of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics. Previously, Mr. Smaby practiced in Dallas where he provided representation to clients in a vast array of legal matters, including: business, litigation, employment, real estate and health law. Mr. Smaby is the co-author of the third edition of 'Opening and Managing a Law Practice', which is published by the Texas Center for Legal Ethics, and he previously consulted with lawyers and law firms on law office management. Additionally, he has written many articles about law and politics that have been published in the New York Times, Dallas Morning News, National Law Journal and Texas Lawyer. Mr. Smaby graduated from the University of Minnesota and received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He is licensed to practice in both Texas and Minnesota.
