The speaker for this course is Mr. Charles Herring Jr. , a name partner with the firm of Herring & Irwin, LLP in Austin. Mr. Herring handles cases and issues involving legal malpractice, legal ethics, attorney discipline, and licensure of attorneys. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Bar Association, Texas Supreme Court's Grievance Oversight Committee and the Texas Civil Rights Project. His awards include First Annual Professionalism Award from the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism and the Travis County Bar Association (2000) and Presidential Citation for Service as Chairman, State Bar of Texas Committee for the Prevention of Legal Malpractice. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law (J.D. with honors, 1975) and his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin (B.A. with highest honors).
