CLEonline.com, together with the Houston Bar Association, are pleased to present a special online CLE program designed to address the overwhelming problem of harassment based on sex or orientation. Recent highly-publicized events show that sexual harassment in the workplace is far more extensive than was realized, even by seasoned civil rights and employment lawyers. We are also see growing sensitivity and concern to harassment based on sexual orientation. This program will address: 1) the current state of Texas and Federal law concerning binary sexual harassment and 2) the legal struggle over recognition of sexual orientation harassment as a per se violation of Title VII. According to the "Lawyers Creed", attorneys have a fundamental obligation and are "entrusted by the people of Texas to preserve and improve our legal system." Inherent in that obligation is valuing the civil rights of our clients and our employees by avoiding sexual harassment and by treating all people with dignity and respect regardless of gender or sexual orientation. This course features streaming video and audio (as well as downloadable MP3 audio) presentations from a live CLE seminar on this topic that was originally conducted by the Houston Bar Association on June 1, 2018. You can access this presentation on demand at any time during the course of the seminar session.
