** available at any time of day and in time increments convenient to you through date referenced above **, together with the Houston Bar Association (HBA), are pleased to present a special online CLE program in the area of ethics and technology. More lawyers are moving an increasing amount of their work product from storage on their local computer systems to remotely accessed storage on cloud computer systems. Items such as email, document management, task lists, contacts, etc. can all now be stored in the cloud. But with this move, the challenges of protecting client information have increased. In this seminar, various cloud storage options will be discussed along with analysis of the ethical implications each one poses. This course features a streaming audio (as well as a downloadable MP3 audio) presentation from a live CLE seminar on this topic that was originally conducted by the Houston Bar Association (HBA) on April 26, 2013. You can access this presentation on demand at any time during the course of the seminar session. The course is approved for 1.25 hours (including .75 in legal ethics).

Subjects to be discussed during this course include:

  • The Closed Network Model

  • Cloud: What is it?

  • Cloud: Why try it?

  • Ethical Concerns

  • Cloud Storage Types

  • Applications Available in the Cloud
