In 2006, she was named Outstanding Young Lawyer of Austin and in 2004, she received the Litigation Award from the Travis County Women Lawyers' Association. She received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 1996) and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (B.S.E.E., 1992). She is admitted to practice before all Texas courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
