CLEonline.com, together with the Capital Area AIDS Legal Project (CAALP), are pleased to present the 2007 version of unique online CLE ethics seminar. This seminar is structured as a game show, with a team of judges ("The Bench Warmers") "competing" against a team of Austin attorneys ("The Bar Tenders") in answering multiple-choice questions regarding the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct. The "Bench Warmers" team includes Judge Elisabeth Earle, Judge Gisela Triana, and Judge Andrew Austin. The "Bar Tenders" team includes Austin attorneys Patrick Keel, Jeff Jury, and Warren Vavra.
Questions posed to the teams are based upon video vignettes taken from popular movies. A panel of four experts - federal judge Lee Yeakel, state district court judge Suzanne Covington, legal malpractice defense attorney Sam Johnson, and criminal defense attorney David Sheppard - provided expert commentary upon the answers submitted by the team participants, explaining their agreement (or on occasion, their disagreement) with the "best" answer. The seminar was hosted by the Austin Bar's answer to Regis Philbin-- Claude Ducloux.
This seminar features a video presentation from the original live CLE seminar that was conducted by CAALP and the Austin Young Lawyers Association (AYLA) on November 15, 2007. This is a streaming video presentation that you can access on demand at any time during the course of the seminar session. The video presentation runs for approximately 2.0 hours. This seminar is entitled:
Ethics at the Movies 2007: 'Who Wants to be Ethical?' (together with the Capital Area AIDS Legal Project)
** (available at any time of the day and in time increments convenient to you during the above referenced dates) **
So, if you are looking for an entertaining and informative way to obtain your ethics training, this seminar fits the bill. Evaluations from participants at the original live event were extremely positive.
