Mr. James (Jim) V. Hoeffner, who is a shareholder with the firm of Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody in Austin. Mr. Hoeffner represents creditors in and out of the bankruptcy context. He becomes involved in non-bankruptcy litigation as special counsel and/or an expert witness when such case involves bankruptcy issues. Mr. Hoeffner also defends and represents non-debtor parties in proceedings where the Trustee or debtor is suing such party. This includes defending preferential transfer actions and/or alleged fraudulent transfer actions. He is board certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law and Business Bankruptcy Law, by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Austin Bar Association, and the Austin Bankruptcy Bar Association. He is also a Life Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation. His awards include Texas Monthly "Super Lawyer" (2003 to present). He received his law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law (J.D., 1980, Law Review, 1979-1980) and his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University (B.A., 1976). Ms. Masters has extensive experience representing a wide array of clients in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings and matters involving commercial litigation.
