The instructor/moderators for this CLEonline.com seminar will be:

Prof. Michael Rogers, who is a member of the law faculty at Baylor Law School. Prof. Rogers joined the faculty in 1984 and became the architect of Baylor's alternative dispute resolution program. He has taught more law school offerings of the course "Alternative Dispute Resolution" than anyone else in the United States. He is an accomplished arbitrator and mediator who has successfully resolved scores of lawsuits. He also serves as chair of Baylor's Professional Sports Counseling Panel, and he is Baylor's Faculty Athletics Representative to the NCAA and the Big 12 Conference. Prior to joining the law faculty at Baylor, he was a founding partner of Gaar & Bell (now Gilmore & Bell), a prominent securities transactions firm, where he served as lead counsel in dozens of private securities transactions and over one hundred public offerings of tax-advantaged securities. While teaching Securities Regulation at Baylor, he has served as consulting counsel in numerous securities lawsuits. He received his law degree from University of Oklahoma School of Law (J.D., 1974), where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and an editor of the Oklahoma Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University (B.B.A. 1972), where he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Phi Kappa Phi.

Mr. Christopher W. Martin, who is a founding partner in the firm of Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom, L.L.P. in Houston. Mr. Martin specializes in the evaluation and handling of insurance matters and disputes involving questions of coverage, industry practices, claims handling, underwriting, legal exposure, inter-insurer disputes, and other legal issues of interest to insurers conducting business in Texas. In October 2002, he was named one of the top five "Go To" Insurance Lawyers in Texas by Texas Lawyer. In September 2001, he was named one of the Top 40 Lawyers in Texas under 40.

Mr. Martin is licensed to appear before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, all U.S. District Courts in Texas, and all Texas state courts. He received his law degree from Baylor University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Baylor University. Mr. Martin is Board Certified in Consumer Law, the specialization covering Insurance Law, by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also in the process of completing his CPCU certification from the American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.

Mr. Martin has served as the Adjunct Professor of Insurance Law at the University of Houston Law Center for the past seven years. He is one of the most requested speakers at state and national CLE seminars for attorneys and insurance professionals. He regularly speaks for the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, State Bar of Texas, University of Texas, University of Houston, and South Texas College of Law. He is the author of two legal treatises: The Lawyer's Guide to Texas Insurance Code, Article 21.21 (Lexis Legal Publishing 3rd Ed., 1998) and Texas Practice Guide: Insurance Litigation (West Publishing 2001). Mr. Martin is also the editor of The Journal of Texas Insurance Law, a quarterly publication of the State Bar of Texas.

Mr. Ike Vanden Eykel, who is a partner in the firm of Koons, Fuller, Vanden Eykel & Robertson, in Dallas. He is a admitted to practice in Texas (1973) and before the U.S. Supreme Court (1977). He received his law degree from Baylor University School of Law (J.D., 1973), and his undergraduate degree from Drake University (B.S., 1971). He has written and spoken extensively on family law matters for several years. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; American College of Family Trial Lawyers; and the Texas Bar Foundation. He is Board Certified, in Family Law and Civil Trial Law, by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the Dallas and American Bar Associations; the State Bar of Texas (Member: Family Law Council, 1987-1996; Supreme Court Advisory Commission, 1987-1988; Committee for Drafting Patterned Jury Charges in Family Law Cases, 1987-1989, 1994-1995; Family Law Commission, 1988-1996; Course Director, Advanced Family Law Course, 1995); and the Texas Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Sam Johnson, who iis an attorney with the firm of Scott, Douglass & McConnico L.L.P. in Austin. His primary areas of practice include: legal malpractice defense, general civil and commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and professional licensing and regulation. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and admitted to practice before all Texas courts. He is a frequent author and CLE speaker on various topics including: Co-author, "Failed Financial Institution Litigation: The Expanding Scope of Liability," 12 Tex. Rev. of Lit. 537 (1993); speaker, 1987-00, University of Houston Continuing Legal Education series, "Rule 166B, Scope of Discovery," speaker, 1999, State Bar of Texas Advanced Personal Injury Course, "Application of the New Discovery Rules." He also served as an Adjunct Professor (1996-2000) at the University of Texas School of Law. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law (J.D., with high honors, 1987) and his undergraduate degree from Baylor University (B.A., summa cum laude, 1984). His academic honors included: Phi Beta Kappa; 1982 Truman Scholar of Texas; 1983 Rhodes Scholarship representative from the State of Texas and finalist; Chancellors; Order of the Coif; Texas Law Review; Teaching Quizmaster; 1986 Judge John H. Wood Memorial Scholarship recipient.

Mr. Charles L. Levy, who is a solo practitioner in Waco, Texas, licensed to practice law in Texas since May, 1984. In private practice since mid-1987, after his tenure as a senior officer for a mid-size Texas based insurance group, Mr. Levy spends the majority of his time representing clients in matters involving litigation and/or disputes, in various areas of legal practice, including but not limited to insurance law, personal injury law, family law, and general civil litigation. In addition to the full-time practice of law, he spends time speaking at various legal and business-related seminars, and writing articles regarding insurance law. A list of his published articles can be found on his web page at www.legaladvice-texas.com Mr. Levy received his law degree from Baylor University School of Law (J.D., cum laude; valedictorian, 1984) and his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas (B.B.A., with highest honors, 1979).

Mr. Christopher L. Elliott, who is a name partner with the firm of Crews & Elliott P.C. in Austin. Mr. Elliott is admitted to practice before all courts in Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; the American Bar Association; the Austin Bar Association; Texas Trial Lawyers Association (Director, 1999); the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA); Million Dollar Advocates Forum; Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association (2000 - 2001, President); Hispanic Bar Association of Austin; and the College of the State Bar of Texas. He is also a Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation and the Austin Young Lawyers Association Foundation. He received his law degree from Baylor University School of Law (J.D., 1990; Order of the Barristers, Phi Delta Phi, Baylor Mock Trial Team) and his undergraduate degree from Austin College (B.A., 1984).
