Judge Darlene Byrne discusses the Child Protective Services dockets in Travis County and the Travis County Model Court for Children and Families along with their efforts to improve the lives of children and families in the community. This course features a streaming video and a downloadable MP3 audio presentation from a live CLE seminar on this topic that was originally conducted by the Austin Bar Association on June 27, 2014. The speaker for this course is Mr. Judge Darlene Byrne, the Presiding Judge of the 126th District Court, in Travis County, Texas. She is board certified in SPECIALTY Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Judge Byrne is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Austin Bar Association, Vice-Chair of the Supreme Court of Texas Permanent Judicial Commission for Children, Youth, and Families; Member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Audit Committee of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges; Chair of the Travis County Juvenile Justice Board; Founder and Lead Judge for the Travis County Model Court for Children and Families; Founding Team Member, Supervising Judge, and former Presiding Judge of the Travis County Family Drug Treatment Court. She received her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center (J.D., 1987).
