CLEonline.com, together with South Texas College of Law, are pleased to present a special online CLE program in the area of family law. Child custody and child support disputes often involve parties who live in different states or seek judicial remedies in different states. A decree issued by a court in the right state is entitled to statutory full faith and credit. A decree issued by a court in the wrong state is likely to be void. This seminar will examine the principle federal and state laws for identifying the single state, or sometimes multiple states with jurisdiction to render the initial custody or support decree. This presentation will then examine the additional rules for identifying states with jurisdiction to modify custody or support, or to enforce such decrees. This course features a streaming video and a downloadable MP3 audio presentation from a live CLE webinar on this topic that was originally conducted by South Texas College of Law. You can access this presentation on demand at any time during the course of the seminar session. This course is approved for 1.0 MCLE credit hour.
