He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas and he is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Bar Association, Fort Worth Business and Estate Council, and Fort Worth Chapter/Texas Society of CPAs. He has been named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine (2004-2012) and he is consistently recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters (2004-2015). He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center (J.D., cum laude, 1992) and his undergraduate and masters degrees from Rice University (Master of Accounting, B.A. in Economics cum laude).
